Biography
Maurice A. Finocchiaro is a graduate of MIT and UC Berkeley; now Distinguished Professor of Philosophy, Emeritus, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; and recipient of fellowships, grants, and awards from the National Science Foundation, Guggenheim Foundation, American Council of Learned Societies, National Endowment for the Humanities, and International Society for the Study of Argumentation. He has published fourteen books and hundreds of articles and book reviews on logic and argumentation theory, the history and philosophy of science, Gramsci, and Galileo. A recurring theme in his research and publications is the relationship between science and religion.
