Biography
Finley's work engages with questions at the intersection of metaphysics, science and philosophy of religion. It is underpinned by a deep interest in metaphysical grounding and is inspired by the works of Hans Primas, Michael Esfeld and Tim Maudlin. Working with the metaphysical implications of realist interpretations of quantum mechanics his work focuses on relational and holistic metaphysics for mereology, personal identity, and philosophical theology. Recent work has also focused on applied and interdisciplinary approaches to theology and philosophy of religion (on gender and education), applied epistemology (on science, theology and society, and education), and the implications of interdisciplinary education for student access and success. He has a record of research and practice in interdisciplinary curriculum design, in addition to conducting and disseminating externally funded research in humanities and social sciences.
