Biography
Professor of Theology at the Australian University College of Divinity (AUCD, formerly SCD). Doru lectures in various areas of theology for two of AUCD's member institutions, Nisibis Assyrian Theologian College (since 2020; where he serves also as Academic Dean since 2025) and St Cyril’s Coptic Orthodox Theological College (since 2016).
ISCAST Research Director and coeditor of Christian Perspectives on Science and Technology (since 2021).
Fellow of ISSR International Society for Science and Religion (since 2020). Fellow of ISCAST Institute for the Study of Christianity in an Age of Science and Technology (since 2020). Participant in Science and Orthodoxy around the World, a TWCF-funded project run at the Institute of Historical Research at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, Athens, Greece, where he cochaired the "Cosmology" group (2016-2023).
Selby Old Fellow in the Religious History of the Orthodox Christian Faith at the University of Sydney Library (2023-2025, 2021-2022). Member of the International Association for Patristic Studies (since 2013). Honorary Associate of Department of Studies in Religion, the University of Sydney (2017-2023). A Durham International Senior Research Fellow of Institute of Advanced Study, Durham University, United Kingdom (Epiphany Term, 2018).
Romanian Orthodox protopresbyter, ministering to St Gregory the Theologian's Orthodox Mission, NSW, Australia (since 2017).
