LASAR (Learning about Science and Religion) has availability for two Research Fellows to join their team either part-time or full-time (negotiable). The deadline is fast approaching—17 August 2020.
The research fellows will work on a major research and education initiative, the Epistemic Insight Initiative (see www.epistemicinsight.com )
Reporting to the Director of LASAR, the post holder will be responsible for developing research questions, instruments, participant recruitment, data gathering, co-authoring publications, creating and conducting workshops for tutors, student-teachers, school students and teachers.
You will have an interest in the relationships between science and religion and demonstrable experience of research and scholarship in a relevant area (such as but not exclusively – education, science, theology, Religious Education, Science Education, philosophy). Your research experience will include quantitative studies and you will be working with surveys designed for different age groups and settings. You will have experience with a range of relevant computer applications including SPSS, Word and PowerPoint to enable you to analyze data and produce materials for dissemination. You will have used a citations tool.
The post is based in the Faculty of Education, North Holmes Road, Canterbury Christ Church University. Travel to schools and other sites will be a necessary part of this role. Owning a car and valid driving licence will be an advantage. There will sometimes be work at weekends such as to give conference presentations and run workshops for students and teachers.
