This is an open invitation to the conference Contestations in Land and Agriculture: New Directions in Theology and Ethics, due to take place at Christ Church, University of Oxford, between 16-18 May. The conference is co-hosted by the Laudato Si’ Research Institute, Campion Hall, and the McDonald Centre for Theology, Ethics and Public Life, both at the University of Oxford.

Registration is subsidized at £50 student rate (£80 standard rate), including lunch, wine reception, film showing, lectures, and panel discussions. There are opportunities to register for the whole event, or alternatively for some individual components, which are offered free of charge (see website).
The conference will provide analysis of contemporary issues in land use, ecology, and sustainability from the perspective of ethics, philosophy, and world religions; and will relate this to contemporary political and societal trends such as nationalism, protectionism, sustainable development, and ecological civilization.
