Biography
Dr. Fenggang Yang is a Professor of Sociology and the founding Director of the Center on Religion and the Global East at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA. He was born in China and earned a BA and an MA in philosophy in China before moving to the United States in 1989. He earned a PhD in sociology at the Catholic University of America. He has been elected and served as the President of the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion (2014-15) and the founding President of the East Asian Society for the Scientific Study of Religion (2018-2020). He is the founding Editor of the Review of Religion and Chinese Society.
