Biography
Neil Messer completed his PhD in molecular biology in Cambridge before a call to ordained ministry in the United Reformed Church led him to study theology in Cambridge and at King's College London. He has served as a church minister and held positions at Mansfield College, Oxford, the Queen's Foundation, Birmingham, the University of Wales, Lampeter, and the University of Winchester, before moving to Baylor University in 2023. He has served on various external bodies, including the Arts and Humanities Research Council's Science in Culture Theme Advisory Group, and is currently President of the Society for the Study of Christian Ethics. He has done a wide range of theological and ethical work for national and international church bodies including the Communion of Protestant Churches in Europe.
