Biography

I have a BSc and an MSc in physics, prior to my interest in the humanities in general and theology in particular. I have a Ph.D. in theology from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago in 1987, following my growing interest in the science-religion interface. Since then I have been teaching at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, and I have published many books, book chapters and articles in Portuguese, Spanish and English. My current interest is on the religious underpinnings of transhumanist proposals.

Biography

My research interests lie, since the 1980s, in the interface of religion and the natural sciences, in particular the religious underpinnings of scientists' discourses.
